As the wind dropped for several hours last night, the Poles have only covered 200 miles in the last 24 hours and they still have 282 miles to go before the finish. The Mistral weakened a little on Monday and Warta Polpharma should run into some nice sailing weather for the final hours of her race.
Team Legato, is still out in the Atlantic Ocean some 200 miles away from Gibraltar which they should pass on Tuesday morning. They still have a little over 900 miles to sail before they too can complete their voyage round the world. Tony Bullimore and his crew continue to sail upwind, a point of sail which they know only too well. The oldest boat in The Race has been sailing almost exclusively hard on the wind since the Falklands. It does not look as though that is about to change in the hours to come.
