A World Sailing RM Seminar must include a minimum of three days instruction plus time for the candidates to take the written test. The seminar must be given in the English language. Candidates should have either been appointed as a national race officer, have attended a World Sailing RM Clinic or have proven experience of race management at national level.
A World Sailing RM Clinic must include a minimum of two days instruction. A written test may be set at the discretion of the host MNA but does not meet the criteria for application for IRO status. Candidates should have some experience of Race Management. The clinics are based on the World Sailing Race Managment Manual and the Racing Rules of Sailing. The World Sailing Race Management Clinic package is available for use by MNAs at a national level in the following languages: Bulgarian, French, Hungarian, German, Greek, Mandarin and Spanish.
