Robert SCHEIDT (BRA)The words Robert SCHEIDT and Laser World Champion are virtually synonymous. In September 2003 Robert finished second at the ISAF World Championship, but by May 2004 he had reclaimed the World Championship title for a record seventh time. Three months later, he had won the ultimate prize, an Olympic gold medal and became the first Laser sailor in history to win two Olympic Golds. However, he did not have it all his own way and the battle for gold went down to a nail biting final race.

Robert's other results are indicative of his dominance in the Laser class as he clinically claimed the top podium position at all the ISAF Graded Events he entered in the nomination period.

The exceptional performances of this sailor have seen him moving between first and second on the ISAF World Sailing Rankings throughout the period.
