Italian ship-owner Vincenzo ONORATO is at the top of the game and his achievements over the nomination period speak for themselves. ONORATO's sailing team Mascalzone Latino are well known on the Farr 40 circuit and in America's Cup circles. In September 2006, the Farr 40 fleet congregated in Newport, USA for the Rolex Farr40 World Championship and ONORATO's 'Latin Rascals' won their first World title.

After turning his attention back to the Louis Vuitton Cup and Mascalzone Latino's challenge for the America's Cup, ONORATO was back with the Farr 40 in Italy for the Rolex Settimana delle Bocche in June, ONORATO won again giving him the European title to add to his collection. It was then on to Norway where Mascalzone Latino won the Nordic Farr 40 Championships before the final stop in Copenhagen, Denmark for the 2007 Rolex Farr40 World Championship. ONORATO's team was by far the most consistent, only once finishing outside the top ten and finishing the series with a 35 point margin over second place. This emphatic victory makes ONORATO and Mascalzone Latino the first ever team to win back to back and the second team to win twice at the Farr40 Worlds.

ONORATO headed up his second America's Cup campaign for the 32nd America's Cup as President of Mascalzone Latino - Capitalia Team. Going into the Louis Vuitton Cup on a high after their third place finish in Act 13, ONORATO's team notched up 35 wins of the 79 matches they sailed to finish the Louis Vuitton Cup in sixth place.
